One of the top guards in the class of 2013 both locally and nationally is Paul VI's Stanford Robinson.
Robinson, who compares his game to that of Dwyane Wade, helped lead the way for Paul VI this past season as they ran the gauntlet of the WCAC undefeated, earning second team all-met honors along the way.
Robinson picked up a number of offers during the high school season, including one from Maryland and head coach Mark Turgeon.
With a WCAC championship behind him, Robinson is now back with Team Takeover this spring looking to help his team win this summer's Peach Jam.
Terps Insider caught up with Stan following Team Takeover's final game of the weekend, a blowout win over All-Iowa Attack in which Robinson led the way with 12 points, including a pair of 3 pointers and an athletic alley-oop slam.
Robinson has schools from the ACC, Big East and Big Ten all after him. He talked about the visits he's taken so far, as well as the ones he has lined up this summer.
"I've visited Miami, Rutgers, NC State and Villanova", said Robinson.
"The visits that I plan on getting in is another one at Villanova, I plan on doing one at UVA, Marquette and Indiana."
Robinson added, "I will take a visit to Maryland. I just don't know when yet because it's so close."
His plan is to trim his list down to 5 or so schools around Peach Jam and take all 5 of his official visits.
Terps Insider asked Stan specifically about Maryland and how he'd fit in.
"Coach Turgeon, me [Turgeon] and Coach Hill all have been on the phone together and talked about me playing the 2 there. He says he feels I fit best in his system.", said Robinson. "He did a very good job with the team this year. For him to go that far mean's a lot."
"A lot of schools want a lot of players, but I think I want to go to a school that needs me. Where I'm needed at and not just where I'm wanted."
